Olympics bronze medallist Tasha Danvers has rejoined Croydon Harriers after a 10-year absence.
The 400m hurdler, fresh from her success in Beijing, said her decision to return to the club had been in her mind for some time and felt like a "happy home coming".
Still holder of three Croydon records, Danvers completed her successful season by finishing second at the Shanghai Grand Prix last Friday in 54.84 seconds. Commonwealth Champion Jana Rawlinson, of Australia, clocked 54.42 in winning the race.
Danvers' mother, Dorrett McKoy - a promising high jumper asa youngster - also called Harriers' senior coach Mike Fleet to confirm she would also be returning to the club.
Danvers will join fellow Olympians Martyn Rooney and Donna Fraser in attending the Lexus Croydon Charity 10k on Sunday, October 19.
More than 200 people have already signed up, while there is an accompanying 3km fun run for athletes aged nine to 14.
