South London Harriers had four teams competing in the relay races hosted by Blackheath & Bromley Harriers at Sparrows Den on Saturday, writes Viv Gardner.

Run over a 2.5 mile cross country course this popular event was well attended on a fine sunny afternoon.

Harriers' two men’s teams finished ninth and 18th and the two women’s teams finished third and ninth with times as follow: Lee Morgan 13.53, Alex Halpin 15.24, Andy Davis 14.33, Paul Mitchell 15.14, Stuart Major 13.44 and David Ogden 15.04 (9th).

Colin Young 17.07, Antonio Martins 15.59, Harvey Hughes 18.06, Matt Saunders 17.54, Francis Upcott 16.11 and Jake Clausen 20.41(18th).

Sophie Cowper 17.27, Viv Mitchell 17.51, Pippa Major 17.08 and Nicky Morgan 17.33 (3rd).

Trudy Kuhn 18.24, Pam Ianella 20.12, Su Bottle 21.38 and Behjat Reza 23.53 (9th).

On Saturday 4th October, SLH will be hosting their 5 mile championship race for the historic Gibb Cup on Farthing Downs. This challenging cross country event is also an open race and anyone wishing to take part should look at the club’s website www.southlondonharriers.org for details
