Epsom schoolgirl Isabel Brinsden helped England to a comfortable team victory when she won the girls 3000m in the annual schools international meeting at Bedford.

The 16-year-old Rosebery pupil who only took the bronze medal in the English schools championships, ran one of the best races of her young life to win by more than four seconds in 9 minutes 56.58 seconds.

Three Surrey English schools winners, Amy Allcock (300m), Rikkie Letch (800m) and Jonathan Hay (3000m) also won their events.

* Having lifted themselves clear of the relegation zone in the second match at Eton, Belgrave Harriers will be hoping to consolidate their fourth place out of the eight teams in the third of this season's British Athletcis League Premiership meetings at Barnet Copthall Stadium on Saturday.

* Kingston and Polytechnic followed up their second place in their opening match at Kingsmeadow by finishing third at Leeds and are currently in line for promotion. They face a shorter trip to Bedford on Saturday. * Saturday sees the final Southern Men's League matches of the season. Serpentine face their longest trip of the summer to Yeovil for their final Division One match. Hercules Wimbledon and Walton are in action in Division Two matches at Bromley and Hastings. Epsom and Ewell and South London Harriers are joint hosting Division Three South matches at Kingsmeadow Stadium with Herne Hill among the visiting teams. St Mary's Richmond are also hosting a Division Three South match at Twickenham.

* Kingston and Polytechnic host the final Ebbisham Boys League meeting of the season at Kingsmeadow Stadium on Sunday, starting at 1.30pm.
