Addiscombe U11s secured the North East Central Surrey Colts League Division Two title with an emphatic 76-run win over Streatham & Marlborough on Sunday, writes George Alderman.
The last game of the season was the icing on the cake for the team, who were undefeated all season.
All 13 children used during the season contributed to the winning record, ensuring that the team stayed at the top of the league table for the entire season.
Gihan Fernando batted and bowled with aggression and style, finishing with 139 runs at an average of 23, while taking 10 wickets at 10.8 runs.
Not to be outdone, Abaid Sajjad scored 76 runs at an average of 38, taking 11 wickets.
They were ably supported by Rajeev Shankar, who finished the season with 75 runs at 12.5 and 10 wickets at 8.5 runs each.
Meanwhile, captain Bethany Audus, the only girl to feature in any league side, scored 123 runs at an average of 31 and was the top wicket-taker with 15 at an average of just eight runs.
