Striders of Croydon's talented distance runner Duncan Lancashire finished seventh out of 603 runners in Sunday's Elmbridge 10km road race, writes Alan Dolton.

A personal best time of 33 minutes 40 seconds also lifted him to fifth in his club's all-time rankings.

Other Striders finishers: 27 Justin Macenhill 35.25, 75 Damian Macenhill 38.45, 83 Alex Aronberg 39.05, 136 Alastair Price 41.06, 447 Karen Machenhill 53.38, 465 Karen Peake 54.52, 525 Susan Haynes 58.36, 527 Julie Shew 58.40.

The previous day, Richard Lee-Smith led Striders' 24 finishers in the Elmore seven-mile road race, organised by South London Harriers.

He finished 22nd out of the 273 finishers in 45 minutes 15 seconds and was closely followed by club secretary Chris Morton in 25th (45.45) and veteran Bob Ewen in 27th (46.06).

Striders' first woman was Suzy Yates in 81st (52.13), who was followed by Josephine Thompson in 90th (53.21) and Stephanie Upton in 92nd (53.44).
