Weybridge racer Don De Graaff has added to his points tally in the BARC Formula Renault Championship after claiming two 10th place finishes in Rounds Six and Seven at Croft in Darlington.

After struggling in qualifying on Saturday and only managing 16th and 17th on the grid for the two races, De Graaff worked hard with race engineer Richard Coleman to cure the problem for the races on Sunday.

In race one, he started from 16th and made his way up to 10th by the end of the 14 lap race - a brilliant result considering that his front wing was badly damaged on the first lap which lead to an ill-handling car for the entire race.

In race two, he started 17th. As all the cars were sat on the grid it began to rain but the race started with him on slicks. He had a good first lap which moved him up to 13th by the end of lap one.

Throughout the race he made some good moves to end up in a lonely 10th by the flag.

De Graaff said: "I am extremely happy with the result after we struggled in qualifying with the balance of the car. I sat down and had a long chat with my race engineer Richard Coleman about what we could do to improve the car for the races and he came up with a solution and the car was brilliant in the races.

"I now need to work hard on finding some more pace in myself and improving my starts for the next round at Snetterton. I would like to thank the whole of Tempus Sport for making me feel so welcome and helping me improve as much as I have.

"I would also like to thank all my partners and anyone who has helped me throughout my racing.

"I am confident that the team and I can achieve even better results later on in the season."

He is now looking forward to his next test day on August 1 at Silverstone.
