Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow came away with a big win in the penultimate match of the five-event National Young Athletes League at the University of East Anglia, Norwich on Sunday, writes Geoff Bayles.

The result leaves WSEH top of the Southern Premier League with one match to go at Thames Valley Athletics Centre.

In the U13 Girls sprints, Olivia Caesar and Madison Paris-Matic picked up good points despite running into headwinds.

Maximum points were won in the middle distance events, Ruth Bourne and Becca Croft (800m), and Chloe Allen (pb 4.11.7) abd Abbie Schmid (1200m).

Top marks also went to Morgan Lake (pb 12.4) and Hannah Williams (pb 14.1) in the 70 Hurdles.

Morgan also claimed 1st in the High Jump and Long Jump. Gabriela Zivanovic also picked up 1st places in the B High Jump and A Shot. Alejandra Gomez won the B Shot.

The U15 girls sprints duo of Karimah Muhammad (1st A 100m & 2nd A 200m) and Shalisha Patrick (1st in both the "B" 100m & 200m) both looked strong. Solid points also went to the middle distance athletes (Naomi Barbour & Emma Croft - 800m) (Laura Suggitt 1st "A" & Maryse Haynes - 1500m).

There were also wins for Demi Barrance in the High Jump B, Ellie Norris Discus A And Shot B.

Sarah Taplin recorded two personal bests in the Javelin (30.79m) and Shot (8.38m).

Faye Williams (13.4 =pb) and Georgia Connor-Wilder took maximum points in the 100m. Georgia also ran well in the 200m "B", backing up a strong 2nd place for Laura Burke in the "A". Only 30 mins beforehand, Laura won the 300 Hurdles and with Shanice Brown (pb 49.9) took maximum points.

Faye Williams and Letisha Richardson won both their respective 80 Hurdles races.

Lois Bond, along with Georgia Taylor (800m) picked up good points.

Hannah Barefield continued her excellent form by winning her 4th consecutive 3000m race, and along with team mate Sarah Spears (debut at this distance) won the "B" in a very good 12.01.4.

At the end of the day, Lois stepped in to fill the "B" 1500m just for a point, she went on to finish 2nd in the "A" (pb 5.29.5).

Letisha Richardson, Shanice, Sarah Phelps and Harriet Hillson all won good points in the Jumps.

Laura James (pb 34.22) and Chloe Wright (top marks in the Discus) also good throws were also achieved by Sarah, Jenny Yoxall and Letisha.

The girls rounded off the day with a hard fought battle to the line in the 4x300m. Laura Burke holding off a strong challenge from Harrow AC.

Result: 1 WSEH 459.5, 2 City of Norwich 411, 3 City of Harrow 397.5, 4 Havering Mayesbrook 345.
