It's great to be back on the rivers and from what I have seen they are in first class condition.
Canbury Gardens can be relied upon to give some good bags of bream but you need to make sure you take plenty of groundbait along.
Fishing the groundbait feeder mid-river with maggot, caster, worm or any combination of these on the hook and casting to the same spot regularly should bring you plenty of action.
The smaller rivers such as the Mole, Wey and Ember are always good for chub, roach and perch and some of our local associations such as CALPAC have lots of good stretches to choose from.
Barbel anglers will no doubt be heading for the River Kennet and CALPAC have a lovely part of the river at Padworth.
I speak from experience about this particular stretch as it's one of my favourites.
I have had barbel to 12lb here as well as chub to 6lb and perch to a whopping 4lb 02oz.
