Prop Daniel Heckenberg has admitted Harlequins must improve their away form if the Londoners are to reach the play-off promised land.

After a promising start to their travels Quins have failed to win away from the Stoop since a victory at Warrington back in March.

And after the latest reverse, a 26-16 defeat at Huddersfield on Sunday, the Australian voiced his concerns.

Heckenberg said: "Any win is a good win but it is obviously important to start winning on the road. It is about focus and being switched on.

"We are not executing our game plans at the moment and it is frustrating when you try things and they don't come off.

"We know we can play but we just have to keep control of the ball better in our away games."

Heckenberg made a welcome return to action at the Galpharm Stadium having missed the last 13 games with a dislocated shoulder suffered in training.

And the 28-year-old admitted it had been a frustrating time.

He added: "It's good to be back out there playing rugby again.

"It certainly beats sitting on the sidelines any day.

"I played for the reserves and then had a full game against the Giants and I feel good.

"I just want to stay fit, injury free and stay on the park."

Quins will attempt to banish their Huddersfield blues when they head north again on Friday to face Wigan Warriors in a televised clash. And Heckenberg insists his team-mates will not need stoking up for the occasion.

He revealed: "It is always a hard place to go but it is a good place to play as well.

"We all want to put in a good performance. There is no doubt everyone will be up for it."
