Chessington recorded a thrilling last over victory against Worcester Park on Saturday to move up to third place in Surrey League Division Three.

Stuart Peplow looked in good form early on but was caught and bowled for 16 by Park skipper Rob Bell for 16 with the score on 24.

Andy White (51) and Luke Carter (58) put on a crucial 91-run partnership to set up a good platform for a big total.

Chris Norton's 34 from 38 balls helped the score along but the visitors fought back well, taking wickets regularly to restrict the flow of runs and eventually keep the score down to a still competitive 213.

Marshall (4-44) and Bell (3-51) bowled good tidy spells, using up 30 overs between them.

Worcester Park looked to attack from the start and Joe Hill gave his wicket away early on, coming down the track to Chessy's left arm spinner Ritchie Singleton.

Mirroring the home innings, Rob Waite (66) and Rob Hill (38) put on 92 for the second wicket and looked to be setting up their side for the win.

Three good catches turned the game, with Hill caught in the deep by Stewart off Andy Robson. Waite was then well-taken by Singleton and Norton took a superb diving catch at mid-wicket to dismiss Gooch cheaply. Carter went on to bag 4-45 as wickets tumbled, and quickie Taidhg Randall hit the off-stump to leave Park trying to save the game eight down.

Spinner Singleton came back into the attack and trapped Brassington lbw and, as Chessington ran through their overs to get as many in as possible, it looked as though they would be thwarted. Singleton struck again with only two balls remaining as Aidan Bell offered no shot and was struck on the pad in front of the stumps.

Chessington are at home to Farncombe on Saturday.
