Jack Clarke, from Effingham, slipped from third to seventh in the 2008 Formula Palmer Audi Championship after the latest two races at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
Clarke, aged 20, finished eighth in the opening 16-lap race but then crashed out of the second at the 2.3-mile Grand Prix circuit in Kent.
He has 60 points from five rounds, 30 behind championship leader Jason Moore from Bedford.
