Kingston Grammar School's U18 girls have won the National Indoor Hockey Championships for the first time, at only their second attempt.
They beat Taunton School 6-4 in the final at Birmingham. Kingston led 5-1 at one stage, but had to withstand a determined fightback by the Somerset team.
It was particularly sweet as Taunton had beaten Kingston 5-3 in their opening match of the weekend.
But wins over Bromsgrove School (6-3), Bowdon (7-2), Queenswood School (6-2) and a 3-1 sem-final success over Bradford had taken Kingston to a rematch.
Coach Adele Brown said: The girls played with real tenacity. They refused to be overwhelmed by the occasion as we were last year."
The school's U16 boys were beaten in the semi-finals of their national indoor tournament over the same weekend.
