Tadworth-based Chinthurst School won the prestigious Surrey Open Squash Tournament (Prep Schools Competition), held recently at Epsom College, with Homefield from Sutton coming runners up.
Some 24 teams, from as far away as Ampleforth in Yorkshire, took part in this year's competition, which produced some excellent match play and reflected the improving overall standard of schools squash.
The event, organised by Frankland Squash Matters Ltd in association with Epsom College, was divided into two sections - one for Prep Schools and one for Independent Schools. Trinity School from Croydon took the Independent Schools trophy, with Epsom College coming runners up.
"The strength of each team was excellent and all of the players showed impeccable etiquette and determination," said Neil Frankland, an international squash player and Surrey County Coach.
