Hercules Wimbledon long jumper Royden John made an impressive indoor debut by picking up a bronze medal in the South of England championships at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.

The 35-year-old, last year's Surrey outdoor silver medallist, steadily improved as the competition wore on and his final jump of 6.85m was just 5cm off the silver medal position.
