Boxer Ricky Boylan swapped his gloves for running shoes on Sunday for the London marathon and had a little help from a GB star.
The Carshalton fighter, who had been due back into the ring on May 7 until an injury postponed the bout, clocked three hours 34 minutes five seconds.
He said: "I really enjoyed it. I did it 15 minutes quicker than I thought I would.
"I was meant to be fighting in two weeks time but I’ve picked up an injury so I decided to run the marathon instead.
"This really helps me with my fitness, so I can keep boxing."
He added: "For part of the race I was running with Iwan Thomas, which really spurred me on.”
