Moseley 21 London Welsh 23

by Vicky CheeversA stoppage time penalty from Dylan Pugh gave London Welsh a dramatic 23-21 win at Moseley on Saturday - and plunged the hosts deeper into relegation trouble.

With Welsh entertaining Moseley's relegation rivals Otley in their final match this Saturday, the Old Deer Park side are playing a major part in both teams' futures.

Moseley opened the scoring with a penalty, but Welsh hit back with tries by James Storey and Chris Ritchie following great work by Neil Taylor, James Strong, Aaron Hopkins and George Robson. Tom Marks converted the first.

Moseley recovered to lead 14-12 at the interval with two penalties and an unconverted try.

But in the second half Moseley's Neil Mason was yellow-carded and Welsh went back in front soon afterwards with a penalty from replacement fly-half Pugh.

Then it was Kevin Burke's turn to get a yellow card and Moseley took advantage with a try by Oliver Winter which Oliver Thomas converted.

Alex Cadwallader replied by touching down in the right corner after leaving four men in his wake. The swirling wind caused the try to go unconverted, leaving Welsh just one point behind the hosts.

But two minutes into injury time they were awarded a penalty for offside just beyond the 22, and Pugh efficiently added the three points.
