The Twickenham Stoop is braced for a double blockbuster weekend; a sellout crowd is expected for Saturday's Guinness Premiership game against Sale Sharks and then on Sunday, Harlequins RL are likely to attract their biggest crowd of the season for the engage Super League battle with St Helens.

When St Helens visited the Twickenham Stoop last season it was the first ever match for the newly formed Harlequins Rugby League.

This Sunday when the World Club Champions line up against Harlequins, it could be another 'first' for the London club. Having defeated St Helens in their opening game of the season in February, if Quins were to win again on Sunday, it will be their first Super League double over St Helens in the competition's 12-year history.

Both Super League teams are coming off a loss last weekend and will be eager to get back to winning ways. Missing a handful of their stars through illness and injury, Saints were outclassed by Leeds who scored 24 unanswered points in the second half to halt a five-match winning run.

Quins - also missing a few regulars - returned from the Galpharm Stadium empty handed, on the end of a 46-16 defeat to Huddersfield.

Including the historic first game of the season, St Helens won all three matches last season against Quins. The opening game saw by far the biggest winning margin (40-16) and Quins have managed to gradually bridge the gap in the three more recent contests. Quins' 16-6 loss away to Saints in April last season was followed in July by another loss, albeit this time by just six points. Their third successive visit to Knowsley Road saw this year's opening round 14-6 victory.

Quins RL captain, Rob Purdham is looking forward to welcoming the best': "Is always good to line up against a team like St Helens but to be honest this weekend for us is not about the opposition. We need to get a few things right in our own game and make some necessary improvements.

"It was a great atmosphere last time St Helens came down so in that respect it should be another good event. A lot of union fans were here on that occasion and I expect a number will turn out again on Sunday. It's a massive weekend for Quins at the Stoop."

Last season's visit by St Helens not surprisingly attracted Quins' biggest crowd for the season, and Sunday should bring another bumper audience. Quins have offered an attractive discount to Season Ticket holders who wish to buy additional tickets for this match, and also to NEC Harlequins supporters who want to back up for the double' after attending Saturday's game against Sale.
