A belligerent 61 from Woodmansterne's Chris Vagg failed to prevent Southern Railway Kenley romping to a 125-run friendly win on the opening Saturday of the season, writes Thomas Wortley.
SR Kenley, four divisions higher than Woodmansterne in the Surrey hierarchy, elected to bat on a slow wicket, but lost their openers to Rikul Patel and Rob Anderson.
Woods, missing four first team bowlers, struggled after this as big knocks by Brown and Sanjay took Kenley to 302.
Woodmansterne's reply was hampered as last year's top scorer Conway was unable to bat due to sickness. Openers Park and Pryor were dismissed cheaply before Vagg, returning from two seasons of injury problems, produced some powerful hitting, including one massive six that flew out of the ground.
Hiren Patel (19) and Rob Anderson (34) offered good support, but Woods were dismissed for 177.
