Reed's School's annual five-a-side football tournament in aid of the Helping Hand charity attracted more than 250 people on Sunday.

Reed's School was established in 1813 as the London Orphanage, and its founder Andrew Reed was dedicated to helping generations of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The annual tournament helps to raise community awareness about the charity every year.

Organiser Richard Garrett, marketing and development manager at Reed's, said: "It's important that people gain an understanding about Reed's School's work for the Helping Hand charity.

"This event helps us to support 65 children a year.

"Next year is the event's fifth anniversary and we're thinking of introducing additional tournaments, one for veterans and one for youngsters."

The day saw 22 sides battle for honours, with team Tony Yeboah beating Galacticos in the final.

Ex-pupil Tom Minter won the penalty shoot-out competition in which Martin Edwards, who runs the training programmes for QPR and Fulham, kept goal.
