Having already secured promotion from London Four South West and the league title, Cobham RFC are eyeing an historic treble, writes James Cracknell.

The Fairmile Lane-based amateurs have won all 16 of their league fixtures so far in this campaign.

They clinched the title with a 52-0 thrashing of neighbours Weybridge two weeks ago and are well on target for their best season in the eighth tier of the English RFU to date.

Cobham's season has included a superb run in the the Surrey Cup and they are also two wins from winning that competition.

First up, though, is a semi-final at home to London Two South side Sutton & Epsom on April 21.

Player-coach Billy Davison, a former Harlequins player, said: "We are very proud of our achievements this season, and to beat a team two leagues higher than us would be extraordinary."

Davison joined a Cobham club reeling from two successive relegations in 2005, having left Quins in 2004, and is proud of the job he has done in turning them around.

"The team has been rebuilt in the past few years and having now been together for a while," he said.

"Returning to London Two is our ultimate goal."
