Leaders Streatham Redskins made it 11 wins from 11 games by defeating Haringey Greyhounds 3-0 at Alexandra Palace on Sunday, writes Jon Fitzmaurice.

Head coach Dean Birrell said: "Haringey are one of the most improved teams in the league and they put up a good fight.

"For 45 minutes, there was only one goal separating the two teams and, despite our forwards raining 47 shots on the Haringey goal, it would only have taken a breakaway for them to equalise.

"But we kept plugging away and eventually the breakthrough came."

Both teams were missing players, and Haringey lost a few more during the game, including top scorer Scott Cannam, to penalties.

Redskins were without James Tanner in goal, but U19s netminder Jonathan Sylvester deputised in style to claim the man-of-the-match award.

Streatham went ahead after four minutes through Joe Johnston.

Haringey defended desperately and held Streatham at bay until the 45th minuten when Johnston set up Wayne Trunchion to tuck the puck home.

Two Haringey players were then ejected from the game and, after 51 minutes, Steve Paris deflected a powerful shot from Sean Easton into the net.

Streatham are away to Basingstoke Bison this Sunday (5.30pm).
