Walton Athletics Club won four gold medals and Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers six at the Surrey Schools Championships at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.

For Walton, Callum Beauchamp, representing north-east Surrey schools, took the junior boys’ 1,500m in four minutes, 28.66 seconds, while Curtis Knight threw the hammer 45.25m for north east Surrey to win the senior men’s hammer.

In the junior women’s group, Hetty Taylor won the shot (10.00m) for north east Surrey, and Sophie Mace won the discus with a throw of 36.42m for central Surrey.

The senior women representing Kingston Schools led the way for Kingston AC. Nicole Kendall won the 200m in 26.54 and Alexandra Bartle won the hammer (32.25m).

In the same age group, but representing central Surrey, Mae Thompson won the 400m hurdles in 1:07.30.

In the senior men group, Alex Mackintosh leapt 1.81m to win the high jump for north Croydon, while Pheobe Law won the inter women’s 1,500m (four minutes, 48.43 seconds) for Kingston schools, and Layla Thompson won the senior women’s 800m in 2:28.02.
