Tim Rawlinson’s four-wicket haul started Wimbledon’s Surrey Championship Premier Division defence in fine style on Saturday.
Rawlinson’s 4-37 from eight overs helped bowl top tier newcomers East Molesey out for 222, 13 runs short of the target set them by their opponents.
Wimbledon had earlier hit 235-7 from their 50 overs, with James Bett top-scoring with 42 not out. Bett and Rawlinson (33 not out) frustrated Molesey with a 55-run eighth-wicket partnership.
This Saturday, they go to Sutton, who lost to Sunbury on the opening day.
