Tadworth AC runners joined a field of 200 for the gruelling Box Hill
Fell race.
The test of strength and stamina included a climb of 1,700 feet over a seven and a half mile snow-covered course.
First home for the club was Peter Mills, 15th in one hour, one minute, 37 seconds.
Veteran runner Geoff Newton was next, 83rd in 1.12:56, winning the men’s over-60 class, and Dave Fisher was 99th in 1.15:28.
Hazel Imeson finished 137th in 1.23:46, taking second place in the women’s over-50 class. The Tadworth team (four-to-score) finished 11th overall.
Elsewhere, the Nonsuch parkrun was won by Neil Wellard of Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers in 19 minutes, six seconds. Chris Coles (19:24) of Wimbledon Windmillers was third.
The first woman home was Mary James of Collingwood AC in 21:40. Ceara Joyce (25:15) of Epsom Oddballs was seventh.
