Sutton United boss Paul Doswell said Harry Beautyman will not be playing at Gander Green Lane next season as the midfielder continues his search for football at a higher level.

The 21-year-old played for Barnet at the weekend, and trained with Aldershot during the week, but is yet to sign a contract with any club.

Beautyman, a former Leyton Orient trainee, is desperate to climb the league ladder but admitted to being frustrated by a lack of interest in his abilities.

The England C international also admitted that while he has great affection for United, it was time to go all out for a step up.

He said: “I loved my time at Sutton United, but I felt that I had to push myself on and go at least a league higher.

“It would not have bothered me staying at Sutton for another season, and it is a risk trying all out for a new club because there is not much time.

“I believe I have played well in the games I've played, and done well in training, but there just seems to be nothing happening, and it is frustrating.

“I don’t really know where I stand at the moment and the season is getting closer.”

Doswell said: “Harry is desperate to play at a higher level and we’ve given him the chance to do that, and he will not be with us next season.

“He is going to hang out and see what comes up and we hope for him that he gets the right club, but we have to make our plans and move on.

“Our midfield is [Ali] Fuseini, [Dean] Sinclair, [Anthony] Riviere and [Craig] Dundas so we are well covered, and I also brought in Dale Binns.

“We cannot keep everybody, but it was Harry’s choice.”
