Croydon FC chairman Dickson Gill hopes the club can end a topsy-turvy season on a high on Sunday by winning the Kent League Cup final.

The Trams have gone through three managers this season but found some stability with Tony Beckenham at the helm, with Saturday's 1-0 victory over Sevenoaks Town securing them a ninth-place finish in the Kent League.

On Sunday they come up against seventh-placed Erith Town in the final at Welling United's ground, and Gill admitted he would like some silverware.

"They boys have done very well to get there and it would be nice if we can get some success," he said.

"But to get this far and put ourselves in the final is a great achievement.

"Tony has kept the boys together since he came like I asked him too and only bought in one player.

"We never doubted the players we had but all the problems off the field did affect them, as it would have done at any club."

The club could end up with three trophies this season with the youth team and U9s also reaching cup finals, while the U13s missed out with an extra time defeat in their final.
