Kingstonian and Fleet Town will have to do it all over again after a pea-soup fog descended on Kingsmeadow, ending this third round league cup game prematurely.

The Ks had taken a first half lead with a fine well-timed lob from midfielder Simon Huckle. It looked like the fog, which had been threatening since well before kick-off, had evaporated but back it came with a vengeance.

Both goals could not be seen from the grandstand, so referee Steven Rea, had no alternative but to declare the match null and void just after the visitors had drawn level.

The Ks have a weekend break but will play next Monday evening November 22nd at Kingsmeadow against either Hendon in the Ryman Premier League or Fleet Town again in a league cup replay (7.45pm k.o.).

Tom Bolarinwa sent in consecutive corners from the right straight from the kick-off but both were well defended by the Blues backline.

On 6 minutes Fleet striker Darren Wheeler sent an edge of the K's box free-kick into the defensive wall. Then Chris Page went around the back of the Ks backline finding Chad Coombes, on the edge of the Ks box, but he belted the ball over.

On 19 minutes Wheeler sent in a well-struck curling drive from the edge of the K's box which was pushed away by an alert Nic Taylor. It was Taylor again who confidently blocked a strike from midfielder Jamie McClurg.

The Ks replied with a Dean Lodge cross from the left which found an unmarked Huckle close in but he couldn't get anything behind his drive.

Then striker Bobby Traynor had a go from the edge of the away box and he was very close. On 34 minutes a useful break from centre back Leigh Rumbold found striker Mark Anderson but his effort was straight at a well-placed Taylor.

The Ks were having their best period of the game, Bolarinwa's cross from the right saw some defensive hesitancy which Lodge exploited, but his rising drive went over.

With five minutes to the break a long Sam Robinson precision ball from the centre circle found an unmarked SIMON HUCKLE out on the left and he coolly lobbed the outcoming Fleet keeper Chris Baker.

Then Blues winger Daniel Read took off down the right, he picked out an unmarked Anderson, but he struck over first time.

On 47 minutes Lodge sized up an edge of the Fleet box free-kick, he rolled it short to Tom Bird, but he sliced his drive wide.

On 57 minutes a cheeky Lodge backheel sent Bird free down the left but his cross was efficiently cleared from a lurking Bolarinwa. Huckle sent Lodge free into the away box but he fired straight at Baker on his line. On 66 minutes winger Darren Campbell took off down the right and sent in a cross that was seen home by LEIGH RUMBOLD, well that's what the Fleet players told us, I doubt if Taylor could have seen the cross or shot, we certainly didn't!

Four minutes later Lodge fired a free-kick from the edge of the Fleet box but it was again straight at Baker.

On 72 minutes Gary MacDonald had collided with Baker and after he received treatment and came off referee Steven Rea took the opportunity to take the players into the dressing rooms. Five minutes later, with the fog not lifting, he called the game off.
