Kingstonian striker Bobby Traynor admitted losing 2-1 at Cray Wanderers took the gloss off hitting his 100th goal for the club at the weekend.

The 26-year-old’s 78th minute equaliser took him to the century on Saturday to take his season’s tally to 26 and join modern day club legends Francis Vines and Eddie Akuamoah in the Ks Hundred Club.

Traynor reached the milestone having made just 143 appearances for the club since arriving at Kingsmeadow in January 2007, shortly after boss Alan Dowson took the reigns.

But the former Brentford trainee insisted he was more interested in winning games and maintaining Kingstonian’s Ryman League Premier Division play-off push, rather than personal achievements.

“It was really good to get 100 goals, it is just a shame the game didn’t turn out the right way. Once we equalised I thought we’d go on and nick it,” he told the Kingstonian website.

“It has not been playing on my mind. Obviously I play each game as it comes and try to score as many goals as I can. It is a nice milestone, but more importantly football is about winning games and doing as well as we can.

“They all count. I wouldn’t care if they went in of my ear lobe. I don’t really care how they go in as long they find the back of the net.”
