Richard Jolly reckons he may be on borrowed time at Colston Avenue after the latest batch of Robins departures.

The releasing of David Graves and Paul Honey mean just striker Jolly and midfielder Barry Stevens remain from the team inherited by Francis Vines back in September.

And Jolly admits he is taking nothing for granted.

He said: “In a way I’m waiting for the dreaded phone call.

“Both Paul and David texted me on Tuesday to say they had been released and I could not believe it.

“I do not know what has gone on there, but I cannot accept that it is anything to do with finances.

“I am just surprised by the whole thing.

“It is like I have joined a new club and I do not know what to say.”

Jolly also revealed that Carshalton will have to cope without his services for four games over the New Year period when he departs for a sunnier climate.

He added: “I go away for a break every New Year and it is not normally a problem.

“I got the OK from Hayden in the summer so everything is booked.

“The problem this year is it means I will miss four games.

“I just hope the message was passed on to Francis - I tried to confirm it with him at the weekend and he just shrugged it off. ”
