Ryman Premier League new boys Kingstonian opened their pre-season campaign in the driving rain with a combative encounter at Combined Counties League neighbours Raynes Park Vale.

All thee goals came after the break as Ks' free-scoring striker scorer Bobby Traynor carried on uninterrupted from last season helping himself to a brace of goals, the first a penalty.

Then Mark Accardi pegged a goal back to make the end of the game interesting as the inevitable tribe of substitutes streamed on.

Ks next friendly is Wednesday evening July 15th when neighbours Hampton & Richmond Borough visit Kingsmeadow for a 7.45pm kick-off.

The game came alive on four minutes when Liam Collins's drive from way out on the right flank was only inches wide of the far post.

The home side responded with Andrew Trefry setting Dave Ellard free in the away box but Ks skipper Luke Garrard made a well-timed save at the striker's feet.

On 27 minutes a low cross cum shot from the right was blocked by Vale keeper's Paul Brady knee on the near post. On 36 minutes a well-struck rising drive from Traynor was palmed out by a full-stretch Brady.

Then Traynor whipped in a far post cross from the right that new boy from Staines Town Lewis Cook just failed to find.

On 51 minutes pacy Ks sub Christian Jolley took off on a long run down the left and was upended for his troubles in the Vale box.

Up stepped BOBBY TRAYNOR who whipped the spot-kick into the left hand corner past sub keeper Paul Banks, who got a hand to the ball.

Two minutes later a poor clearance from Banks on the edge of the Vale box fell sweetly to an unmarked BOBBY TRAYNOR who kept his cool and neatly chipped the ball home into an unguarded Vale goal from 20 yards.

Traynor then sent in a low cross from the right that set up sub Jamie Beer but his forceful drive was blocked by an agile Banks. Then Trefry broke into the Ks box but Garrard did well to push the shot out for a corner.

On 64 minutes a Stefan Phillips corner from the right was eventually headed home from close quarters by MARK ACCARDI on the near post.

A Tommy Williams free-kick fell to Beer in the Vale box but his drive was pushed out by a full-stretch Banks.

The Ks pushed up for the safety of a third goal. Sub Simon Huckle's drive from the edge of the box was only inches wide. Then a Carl Wilson-Denis cross from the left found Williams but again Banks made another fine save.

The game ended with a Wilson-Denis cross from the right that was just the wrong side of the far post.
