Billy Smith has revealed he has yet to commit his future to Tooting & Mitcham - despite the Terrors’ stunning end to their Ryman Premier season.

Tooting wrapped up their campaign with a 2-0 win at Harlow Town on Saturday, taking their unbeaten run to ten league games.

But despite guiding the Terrors to an impressive ninth-place finish, Smith admitted he is still considering his options.

He said: “I never like to plan more than a year in advance and to be honest I’m not sure if I’ll be back at the moment.

“It really all depends on the budget.

“If I’m given a budget that I reckon I can work with then I’ll be back, but if not I will consider hanging up my boots.

“There will need to be quite a few changes with the squad over the summer, so we will just have to wait and see what happens.”

Dean McDonald and Paul Vines were again on target at the weekend as Tooting finished with a flourish.

And Smith was satisfied with what he had seen.

He added: “It was a pretty comfortable win.

“It is always nice to finish the season in form as it sets you up for the summer.

“Quite a few Tooting fans made the trip, so it was great to give them something to cheer about.”

Regardless of whether he will be at Imperial Fields next campaign, Smith is well aware of the improvements that need to be made.

He added: “If we could keep the players we ended the season with we would do well.

“But to really push on we need to get an attacking midfielder in.

“You could see how much difference Michail Antonio had when he was here, and we need someone who can really push on and score goals.

“The quicker we get that player the better - as in the summer a week gone is a week lost.”
