Hampton & Richmond Women bowed out of the Middlesex Junior Cup at the quarter-final stage, losing 10-0 to a very experienced Barnet side.
The team’s cause was not helped with injuries and suspensions meaning that they could only field a bare 11.
The chances were further hit when they were reduced to 9 players after 20 minutes due to 2 more injuries. The girls however battled hard and never gave up. This Sunday the team are at home to Hampstead Rock in the Russell Cup.
Hampton & Richmond Women are on the lookout for new players to bolster their squad. This is their first season in Women’s football, following a very successful period in the Surrey Youth League. Currently the side are 3rd in Division 3 South and are looking to gain promotion in their first season. The Club train on a Wednesday evening at Beveree Stadium, Hampton and play their games on Sunday afternoons. Please contact Manager Dave Marlow (dave_marlow2006@yahoo.com) for more information.
