Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson will nail down his Ryman League Division One South squad next week and admits striker Carl Wilson-Denis could be in it.

The 25-year-old former Ks youngster returned to the club this week to win Neil Lampton’s equalising stoppage time penalty in Monday’s 1-1 Trevor Jones Memorial stalemate with Kingsmeadow landlords AFC Wimbledon.

Dowson’s men missed out on local bragging rights after suffering a 4-1 penalty shoot-out defeat, which saw Tom Williams net his side’s only spot-kick.

Former Brighton & Hove Albion man Wilson-Denis is expected to feature again in Friday’s friendly with Premier League side Fulham.

Dowson, who expects to finalise his squad at the weekend, is still hunting a front man to play alongside Bobby Traynor and admits the ex-Maidenhead United player could fit the bill.

“I’m a bit concerned when Bobby isn’t in the side we don’t seem to be able to create chances and score goals. We are still looking to find a partner for him up front.” he said.

“We are working very, very hard, but when it comes down to it we need to be making opportunities.

“Clive is someone we are taking a look at and he will be given another chance. The ball is in his court and it is up to him to prove he is worth a go.

“There are a few trialists in and around the club at the moment and we will be narrowing that down before next week.”

Dowson made his Football League debut for a Fulham side - then in the old Third Division - managed by current Cottagers coach Ray Lewington.

He was on-loan from Millwall at the time and remembers his dream start as a professional against Bolton Wanderers - managed by former England and Liverpool captain Phil Neal - was almost the debut from hell.

“They went 1-0 up after just 21 seconds and I remember thinking here we go this is going to be a horror show,” he added.

“Luckily we came back and drew 2-2 and I crossed for one of the goals so it turned out okay in the end.”

Dowson will be running his Kingstonian Soccer School at Hinchley Wood Secondary School throughout the summer holidays and for further information please visit Kingstonian.net.
