Wealdstone 0 Hampton & Richmond Borough 0

Attendance: 125Hampton & Richmond drew 0-0 at Wealdstone in a friendly that was quite feisty at times in the first half but calmed down as the heat and humidity took its toll of the players of both teams.

Wealdstone are settling down to life in their own ground for the first time in 17 years since they moved out of Lower Mead in Wealdstone.

Since then the club have played at various grounds, Watford, Yeading, Edgware Town, Northwood and have now taken over the ground at Ruislip Manor.

The improvement at Grosvenor Vale is noticeable, a lick of paint works wonders but the main improvement relates to the pitch which was always a source of concern at Ruislip.

Wealdstone's keeper Luke Woods was kept busy early on, fielding a couple of efforts from Elliott Frost, before being grateful to his defence when a Lawrence Yaku hook shot was kicked off the line in the 24th minute.

Moments later Ryan Lake drove a shot wide from distance and then Woods pulled off another save from Frost.

Midway during the second half Yaku harried the home defence into an error, but the shot was blocked.
