Kingstonian player of the year Dean Lodge has given boss Alan Dowson his word he will be at Kingsmeadow next season unless he turns professional.

The 22-year-old, who is thought to be attracting interest from Blue Square Premier clubs, turned down an approach from Ryman League Premier Division new boys Tooting & Mitcham last season in favour of staying with Ks.

And Dowson has revealed he would be furious should he quit the club for anyone other than a full-time outffit come the new campaign.

"It would be out of order if he turns us down for another club at this level. It would be scandalous," the manager told the club website this week.

"He is a man of his word. He has told me he is going to stay and I believe him."
