Boss Jimmy Cooper says Jay Lovett’s return to Met Police is more Jurassic World than Back to the Future.

The 37-year-old former Brentford man signed for the Blues from Lewes on a permanent basis on Monday after spending much of last term on loan at Imber Court.

His first job was to help inspire Cooper’s men to a 1-0 win over Billericay Town on Tuesday that made it four wins in five Ryman Premier League games for the Blues.

“We’re really pleased to have him back. He was superb,” said Cooper.

“He suits our system – that we know works – so he has slipped straight back in.

“We are happy with where we are now and I would not rule us out of another shot at the play-offs.”

Adrian Alexabdru Markus has signed on dual registration terms from Wealdstone, and Craig King has resumed his loan from Luton Town.

The Blues host Lewes on Tuesday.
