Hampton & Richmond boss Alan Devonshire has told his players to finish the job after a 3-0 win at Leyton pushed his side to the brink of the Ryman League Premier Division title.

An early Ryan Lake penalty - after Lawrence Yaku was pushed in the box - set them on their way with Yaku claiming the second before strike partner Ian Hodges wrapped the game up on the stroke of half-time.

It was the Beavers' second cleansheet in a row after last week's nerve ridden 1-0 triumph over Harrow Borough and leaves them one win from automatic promotion to the Conference South.

The dream will become reality with either a home victory over Heybridge Swifts tonight, or three points on Saturday at the Beveree against bottom club Slough Town, who have conceded 100-plus goals this season.

"It was a terrific performance from the boys on Saturday and we could have won six or seven nil," said Devonshire.

"We didn't show any nerves. We controlled the game and never looked like losing.

"To be where we are now, I can't praise the boys highly enough. It is down to them really, I just point them in the right direction.

"It is up to us to get it done now."
