Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper will waste no time in pinning down his squad to deals for the forthcoming Ryman Premier League campaign.
Cooper added Tonbridge Angels full back Ryan Watts to the squad last week and ran the rule over a host of new faces as the squad returned to pre-season training with the traditional Richmond Park run at the weekend.
Ex-Brentford trainee Watts, who can also cover the exit of midfielder Howard Newton, is joined in the squad by fellow new faces Michael Charles and Billy Crook as the Blues prepare to travel to Hillingdon Borough for their opening pre-season friendly on Saturday.
And Cooper has warned the rest of his hopefuls they will have just one chance to convince him they are worth a place in his plans for a play-off assault this term.
“Alongside the core of last season’s squad we were delighted to see Billy Crook back after a season at Dulwich,” said Cooper.
“Ryan is an attacking full back who will give us the width needed now that Howard [Newton] has moved on.
“We have been trying to sign Wattsy for the past four seasons, but his desire to play in higher levels of football has prevented us signing him.
“Finally, Michael Charles trained and looked very sharp. Alongside Bradley Hudson-Odoi, I feel we will have one of the most potent strike forces in the league.
“There were many others looking to impress and these will either be offered a deal after this weekend or not as I need to get the squad together early in order to forge relationships.”
