Met Police boss Jim Cooper has signed a new striker on the recommendation of his own defender.
Emmanuel Osei has joined the Imber Court outfit from Leiston after enrolling on a masters degree at Kingston University – and while the 30-year-old Ghanaian’s move to south-west London put him on the doorstep of Met Police, it was not the deciding factor for Cooper.
He said: “Emmanuel has played against us a few times, and my defender Steve Sutherland said he was the best centre-forward he has ever played against. For me, you cannot get a better recommendation than that.”
Cooper has also signed goalkeeper Stuart Searle from Chelmsford after regular keeper Jamie Butler decided to leave to search for football at a higher level.
Cooper is also expecting to sign former Kingstonian defender Simon Huckle.
