Carshalton Athletic have confirmed that Tommy Williams will be the man to spearhead their campaign in Ryman Division One South next season, writes James Barrett.
Williams took the Colston Avenue hot seat last October but, despite winning five of their last six games, Carshalton succumbed to relegation in the cruellest manner – by goal difference on the last day of the season.
Williams said: “Last season was a big learning curve but I’m pleased to stay here and I’m already planning pre-season training, plotting potential friendlies and the like. I want us to hit the ground running in August.”
Club owner Paul Dipre said: “Tommy has a great attitude and he has always had my support. He is under no pressure to deliver an instant return to the Ryman Premier, however.”
