The national hot rods are coming to Plough Lane tonight for the first time this year.
Traditionally more likely to be found racing at the larger UK oval tracks such as Ipswich, Birmingham and Northampton, the top of the range £20,000 cars will be racing around the tight corners of the Wimbledon Raceway from 5.30pm.
Looking to make the step up from the 2l hot rod class to the national scene is Croydon's Billy Clarke, who will be looking for a much-improved performance, after his showing in the Best of Britain event a fortnight ago.
One man who did have a half decent night then, was fan’s favourite Gavin Botfield, who took second place in his heat, and finished well in the final top 10.
Also on the bill are the open-wheeled Superstox, where once again Jason "Super" Cooper will be looking to dominate his competition.
After winning the year-long series for the Superstox formula in October at Plough lane, he returned again to pick up the Best of Britain title.
Completing the night is the last chance to see the lightning rods this year around the capital’s oval.
They culminate their season of racing with the grand final of the Yokohama Tyres Series.
