Crystal Palace are looking at Norwich City goalkeeper Stuart Nelson as a possible replacement for Darryl Flahavan, who looks set to leave the club.

Reserve stopper Flahavan has grown frustrated at his lack of first team chances at the Eagles since signing on a free transfer from Southend United last summer, making just three appearances between the sticks.

He spent the end of last season on loan at Leeds United but a permanent move to Elland Road looks unlikely after experienced keeper Shane Higgs joined the League One club on a one-year deal last week.

However, he has asked to leave SE25 in search of regular football and former Brentford keeper Nelson could replace him.

Manager Neil Warnock said: "Darryl would like to play first team football this year so Jim Stannard (Palace's goalkeeping coach) is looking at other alternatives and I believe Stuart is one of them."

Meanwhile, Alan Lee's proposed move to Carrow Road looks unlikely to happen after Warnock revealed talks had stalled.

"It's not close as far as I'm aware," said Warnock.

"I know he has spoken to them in the past but I don't think there is anything going on there."
