Corinthian Casuals brought a successful home campaign to an end in front of their biggest attendance of the season, but were unfortunate not to get a break against a strong Leatherhead side.

The home started brightly with right back Youseff Matwali almost connecting properly with a long throw which was allowed to bounce in the box after 5 minutes.

Straight up the other end, player of the season canditate Luke Naughton was forced to make his first save of the night with a smart low smothering save from Agyei, the Tanners striker, who managed to bully his way through the Casual's defence.

Casual's top scorer Glenn Boosey was next to try his hand in open the scoring, with a 40-yard strike- which has become such a trademark of the talented striker- which this time sailed harmlessly over the bar.

After 24 minutes, Tommy Hutching's went close for the visitor's with a powerful effort from just outside the area which whistled past Naughton's left hand post.

While- just under the half hour mark- Kane Sergeant saw his low drive from the angle of the box, creep agonisingly wide past the post after Leatherhead failed to deal with a cross from the opposite side.

Leatherhead ended the half strongly with Scott Hassell clearering a Hutching's low shot off the line with the keeper beaten and Naughton then brilliantly saving from the striker once more after being fed through by Jack Macleod.

The Tanners started the second half how they ended the first, on top and on 55 minutes they got the break through with Chris Boulter turning home Mark Simmon's left wing cross.

Casuals fought back strongly however, on 63 minutes Wayne Finnie connected to a Sergeant free kick from the angle of the box- the ball was looking like it was about to nestle into the net but Colin Harris in the away side's goal made a last ditch save to keep Casuals at bay.

Two minutes later, Hassell directed his header straight at the keeper from a tight angle after connecting to a deep free-kick from 35 yards out.

But 12-minutes from time, Agye was adjudged to have been brought down by Metwali in the box- Jon Coke stepped up to take the resulting penalty and with a little help from the post, established a two goal lead for the Tanners.
