Football club bosses have issued a joint statement after a Sutton United midfielder was allegedly spat at in his face following a league match in east London.
Leyton Orient Football Club launched an investigation into the reported incident following their match with the U’s on September 29.
Nicky Bailey, 34, claimed he visited the opposition team’s bar, in Brisbane Road, before becoming involved in an argument with some fans.

It was then he was allegedly spat at in his face by one of them, but full details of the row itself remain unclear.
Both Leyton Orient and Sutton United have since issued a joint statement after the probe was launched.
Leyton Orient chief executive Danny Macklin said: “In order to make the popular Legends’ Lounge as family-friendly as possible, we will be installing a new post-match membership, with full details to be confirmed in the coming days.
“In any future instances of anti-social behaviour, specifically on club premises, we will not hesitate in issuing banning orders.”
A club spokesman added the new membership procedure will be confirmed “in due course” but said no further comment will be made.
Sutton United chairman Bruce Elliott said: “We are very grateful to Leyton Orient for their prompt action in investigating the matter.
“As a result of the events on Saturday, we will be reminding all our players of the FA guidance concerning the use of social media and the correct procedures to follow in such circumstances.”
The U’s ended their last opponents’ 13-match unbeaten run when Jonah Ayunga scored the only goal of the Vanarama National League match on the away trip.
