Dougie Freedman will have no problem giving Lewis Price his Crystal Palace debut on Saturday should Julian Speroni not recover from injury.

The Argentine tweaked his groin during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Reading and had to let Paddy McCarthy take goal kicks towards the end of the game.

A scan on Monday showed there was no tear though, leaving Freedman hoping the ever-present goalkeeper will be fit for Saturday, but confident in his back-up Price if Speroni doesn't make it.

"There's no tear so we are going to wait and see with Julian," he said.

"He won't train this week and hopefully by the end of the week he will be fine.

"If not, then Lewis is a Welsh international and he trains very hard.

"I have seen him have a few very good games for the reserves and I will have no problem throwing him in the deep end if I have to."

Alex Marrow could recover from an ankle injury in time for the trip to Burnley having run for the first time on Monday.
