Herne Hill Harriers successfully defended their senior men’s Surrey League Division One cross country title after winning the final match at Wimbledon Common on Saturday.
The team victory meant Harriers won all four league matches to clinch the title in emphatic style.
Brian Wilder led the charge for the senior men as he finished in sixth with a time of 28 minutes, 49 seconds over the five-mile course.
Wilder also claimed first prize for the best over-40 male, having enjoyed his most successful cross country season to date.
The Tooting-based athletics club managed to close its 10-man team ahead of second place league rivals, Thames Hare and Hounds, and therefore won the title.
The Harriers triumphed in the younger age categories as well as they won the U13 boys’ league title.
The U15 boys’, U17 boys’ and the U17 women’s team finished a close second in their categories while the club’s 1,500m record holder, Saskia Millard, won the U13 girls’ race.
