Brentford continue to disappoint at home as they drew 0-0 with Walsall at Griffin Park on Saturday.

Against a side threatened with relegation, it was another case of points dropped as the Bees rarely looked like a side capable of challenging for a playoff place.

In the early stages Marcus Bean saw his shot saved by Jimmy Walker, while Sam Saunders shot wide of the post.

Walsall posed little threat, although Mat Sadler broke down the left and crossed into the six yard box where Alex Nicholls was waiting, but he was denied by a last ditch clearance by Dale Bennett.

Gary Alexander's early layoff set up Sam Saunders, but after he switched the ball from his right to left foot, his low shot was easily held by Walker.

Towards half time Clayton Donaldson found space on the right of the penalty box, but his curling shot was hooked clear by a defender.

At the other end Simon Moore produced the save of the match when he dived to palm away an effort from Jon Macken.

The second half proved little better as neither side created any clear cut chances in the early stages.

Midway through the half Donaldson broke down the left and crossed for substitute Toumani Diagouraga, but a defender just beat him to the ball and headed behind.

Diagouraga was involved shortly after when he attacked down the left, found Saunders, who in turn found Jonathan Douglas, but his fierce shot was deflected behind.

Donaldson then wasted the best chance of the match when he raced clear through the middle, but a lack of composure allowed Walker to do just enough to put him off and he shot wide.

Walsall briefly threatened towards the end, with Macken shooting over the bar, while Nicholls shot low across the goal and wide of the right hand post and then Jake Bidwell cleared a shot from inside his own six yard box.

It proved to be another disappointing home performance for a Bees side which was booed off the pitch at the final whistle.
