Uwe Rosler could be unveiled as the new Brentford manager tomorrow.

The 42 year-old is set to be handed the reigns with the Bees' long search for a replacement for Nicky Forster finally coming to an end.

He has been in talks with the club all week and a Bees spokesman confirmed today they were close to making an appointment, but stopped short of naming names.

Owner Matthew Benham also Tweeted on Wednesday: "Very close to manager announcement, just tying up finer detail, won't be today but really hope can be wrapped up by the end of the week."

If Rosler does land the job it will be the first time he has managed in England but he did spend four years here playing for Manchester City, scoring 50 goals in 152 appearances, and a further two years at Southampton.

He does have managerial experience in Norway, having taken charge of Lillestrom, Viking and Molde FK, where he was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, and last year expressed an interest to manage in England.

Former player Forster took charge of Brentford in February after Andy Scott was sacked, and led them to an 11th-placed finish and the Johnstone's Paint Final, where they lost to Carlisle United.

He was not offered the job on a full-time basis though and is understood to be in the running to take over the vacant managerial hotseats at Torquay United and Hayes & Yeading.

Rosler's appointment brings an end to the search find his replacement, a wait which had begun to frustrate some Bees players.

On Tuesday, Sam Wood tweeted, "Any danger of a new gaffer??", which followed Leon Legge's tweet from 24 hours previously which said 'Still no Gaffa?'

Legge did write on Wednesday: "I am hearing tomorrow we are getting a manager so going to be looking at my phone all day. Let's hope so aye."
