Brentford’s reward for edging past Swindon Town is a home Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Southern semi-final clash with Charlton Athletic.

The Bees, who have already dispatched Stevenage and Leyton Orient from the competition, beat the Robins on spot-kicks last week after being held to a 1-1 draw at the County Ground.

It is the first time boss Andy Scott’s men have been drawn at Griffin Park in the tournament since they beat Yeovil Town on penalties in September 2008.

Charlton lost 2-1 to the Bees at the last time they visited west London and have got past Dagenham & Redbridge, MK Dons and Southend to reach this stage.

Brentord stand three games from a final date and striker Gary Alexander - a League One play-off finalist with Millwall - admits it would be a dream to take another walk down Wembley Way.

“We are three games away from a proper Wembley final and that is a big incentive,” he said last week.

“Every player dreams of playing there and any team we face from now on will be playing with that in mind.”

Brentford have slashed admission prices for the clash on December 14 with adult tickets reduced to £12.50.

Brentford’s next three fixtures: Nov 20 Plymouth Argyle (a), 23 Colchester Utd (a), Dec 4 Notts County (h).
