Brentford boss Andy Scott fears he could have a starting eleven sitting in the stand for Saturday’s trip to Bristol Rovers.

Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny (ankle), Marcus Bean (hamstring) and Karleigh Osborne (dead leg) all limped out of Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Southend, while Pim Balkestein (groin) was forced to hobble through the final half-hour of the clash.

They join Mark Phillips (knee), Ryan Dickson (hamstring) and skipper Kevin O’Connor (leg) on the Griffin Park treatment table, as the Bees look to extend an eight-match unbeaten run.

“We’ll have to ask our kitman Dave Carter if we can get Lewis Price an outfield player’s shirt printed up,” he joked.

“It is too early to tell how many will be fit for Saturday. We’ve got a few days. You could probably make up a starting eleven from those injured.

“We’ll be working overtime to patch a few up. We’re not going to risk anyone and certainly the loan players will return to their parent clubs for treatment, just to ease the congestion in our physio room.”

Szczesny’s injury saw the return of Nikki Bull on Tuesday, and Scott paid tribute to the former Aldershot Town shotstopper as his patched up Brentford side held on for a draw.

“Nikki has only played one reserve game, but was outstanding in it. He has been immense in training, probably better than he has ever been and I think he has realised what it means to play football after his first serious injury,” he added.

“It was disappointing (to draw), but there were square pegs in round holes in a lot of areas and I think we saw a few players where the amount of games is really catching up with them.”

But while resources may be stretched at Griffin Park it hasn’t stopped Scott targeting three points at the Memorial Stadium.

He said: “That is another game unbeaten, but we have a nice trip to Bristol on Saturday to look forward to. They have lost again on Tuesday, so it is an opportunity to try and peg a few points back on them.”

Brentford’s last five games three games: Apr 17 Bristol Rovers (a), 20 Tranmere Rovers (h), 24 Yeovil Town (h), May 1 Swindon Town (a), 8 Hartlepool Utd (h).
